Meeting
at Heathrow Terminal 5 at 7am on Saturday meant there were a few bleary eyes as
we boarded the 'plane to Madrid. A smooth flight and then onto the transfer
coach heading west. We had a break in Avila for about 1 1/2 hours to look
around the medieval town with its magnificent walls and have lunch. The frozen
yoghurt was good, too!
Arriving
at the Gredos Centre, we were delighted by the fabulous view and surprised by
how hot it was, despite being at an altitude of 1500m. Once the rooms were
allocated and the bags unpacked, we had time to sit and watch the sun set
behind the mountains, try out the swings, or burn some energy on the mini
football pitch, before having a huge supper (we had worked up quite an
appetite)!
Now,
it's getting late and we are looking forward to an early night, ready for the
first of our outdoor activities tomorrow.
