Today we enjoyed a Mexican Cookery Class at Central Street Cookery School, East London. All the profits from private classes like ours go back into funding cooking classes in the local community.

On the second day of gastronomical London we had great fun (despite the weather) exploring Brixton and its delicacies!

Today pupils enjoyed making Mexican street food at the Central Street Cookery School. All of their profits are reinvested back into the local community, for whom they run subsidised and sometimes even free classes to help people acquire cookery skills. A lovely, relaxed end to a great week.

In the morning, students were treated to a cooking masterclass at the School of Wok. The spring rolls they made were delicious.

This was only beaten by the chocolate we had at Hotel Chocolat, made by the students' fair hands. Chocolate has never tasted so good! 

Gastronomic London - Day 3

This morning was show and tell time! Yesterday the pupils were set the task of baking cakes at home to bring into school this morning. 

Their delicious creations were sampled and judged by Latymer's catering staff, headed up by the discerning Theresa, who enjoyed the experience greatly!

Gastronomic London - Day 2

Food glorious food! Today we were given a wonderful tour of Brixton Market, trying food from all different cultures, learning about the history of the area and sampling delicious foods such as Portuguese custard tarts and Afro-Caribbean patties.
