London Multi-Sports Day 5

Final day is at the Surbiton Raceway where we have a two hour endurance race. After a safety briefing and some practice laps the race is ready to start. Every year the teachers look like they are about to win until a mysterious penalty pushes them back into the middle of the group. Will things change this year?....

London Multi-sports day 4

Our annual trip to Cobham for paint balling is many pupils’ highlight. Today is no different in the glorious sun. They were divided into two teams and competition was fierce. Half time sustenance was provided by the famous Paintball burger.

London Multi-sport Day 2

Today we are at the Milton Keynes Snozone for skiing and bowling. Here some of our pupils are gliding down the slope as others brave the joys of the button lifts to go up it. There is also a large group getting a beginners’ lesson. For lunch we enjoy the varied choice on offer at the centre before a game of bowling in which the main intrigue is which member of staff finished last and has to announce the result in staff briefing the following week!

London Multi Sports - Day 1

Fantastic weather as we head out to the Queen Mary Reservoir in Staines. The pupils learn to sail, windsurf and kayak. With a beautifully sunny day but no wind, it’s paddle boarding for the windsurfers.

London Multi Sports - Day 2

We went to Milton Keynes Snodome today. First off was some time on the slope, with a lesson for beginners. In this picture Mr Gibson is explaining why he is such a good skier to one of the pupils, as others take a ride on the lift up to the top!

London Multi Sports - Day 5

Today is Mr Lewis's favourite day as we hit Surbiton race track for go karting!  This photo was taken 5 minutes in and he has already been warned for dangerous driving!

London Multi Sports - Day 4

Today was Paintballing in Cobham. New overalls and new guns were exciting, the amount of mud was less so!

In this picture our pupils are going on the ski lift ready to scale the slope!

London Multi Sports - Day 2

Great fun so far today! We're at the Thorpe Waterski centre, learning to wakeboard (starting with kneeboarding, lesson in picture) then an aqua obstacle course and banana boating.

It appears we aren't the only school trip here today!

London Multi Sports - Day 1

Day one we're at Queen Mary's water sports club, where we try wind surfing, sailing and kayaking. In the picture below, you can see the boys and girls having a lot of fun, albeit it with mixed success, at wind surfing!

London Multisports Day 4

Our fourth day was spent at Campaign Paintball near Cobham. On arrival we got our paintballs and combat gear, before being given our guns. Our first game was in ‘Dodge City’ and saw the Blue team win comfortably, capturing all three flags, followed by quick revenge for the Reds.

We then went to the old car yard where we had to get hold of an oil can and take it to the opposition team’s home base. Amir from the reds managed to get into the blue team’s home base with seconds remaining of the first game to win it for them, and the Blues won the second game by having the oil can in the Red half when the game ended. After a lunch consisting of the legendary Campaign chicken burger we set out again for D-day.

The first two games were shared, leading to a “Winner-takes-all” final match, won by the Reds, featuring Tom managing to sneak around the back of the Blue team’s
defences and take out quite a few unsuspecting opponents.
At the end of the day, Maddie won the best player award and Ashley won best bruise!

Trip Returns

ALL TRIPS: Essential information for parents

We are very much looking forward to our trips returning over the next day or so.
Please be assured that if any trips are delayed we will be in touch with you.
Please do not call the school to check on arrival times.

London Multisports Day 3

On our third day we went to Milton Keynes Xscape for Skiing and bowling. We were divided into beginners (pictured) who had a two hour lesson and more advanced, who got a free run of the real snow slope there. There was a cool jump and races and it was quite hard to persuade everyone they had to leave the slope in time for lunch, although we did manage it!

After lunch we went bowling, with Jamie putting in the best performance of the students, although that was a slideshow to the big match at the side of the pupils, where the four teachers took each other on. Mr Lewis won easily with a score of 150, and in last place was Mr Gibson, who took his loss very well.

Mr Lewis and Mr Gibson with their winning and losing scores!

London Multi-sports Day 2

Day 2

Today we went to the John Battleday Waterski centre to do knee-boarding, wake-boarding, paddle-boarding and banana boating. We particularly enjoyed the banana boating, even though occasionally the whole boat was cleared of riders!

Meanwhile, Jobe enjoyed the tribute from the life jacket manufacturers!

London multisports

London Multisports sees Year 9s and 10s spend the week enjoying a grand total of 10 sports.

Today it was sailing, windsurfing and kayaking at the Queen Mary Reservoir near Sunbury.

We donned our wetsuits and were taught to sail and windsurf as well as having a group kayaking session including various races and games. The weather wasn't great, and we were feeling the cold at one point, but in the end the sun came out and a lot of fun was had by all!

LONDON MULTI SPORTS - GO-KARTING

Our last day was spent go-karting at Surbiton raceway. Here is one of the teams ready for the race.
The first lap!

Towards the end of the race with the teachers' kart in first place....Mr Lewis gets hauled into the sin bin for a minor infraction by the extremely biased referees. This wasn't enjoyed AT ALL by the other teams!

The deserved winners celebrate their victory!

LONDON MULTI SPORTS - DAY 4

Today was paintballing. We all got into our combat gear - as modelled by Mr Lewis and Mr Goldsmith...

...and then proceeded to play a variety of different games. Mr Lewis managed to get hit in the throat but he assures us he's OK - not even hoarse.

The teams in their gear (we weren't allowed into the paintball zone).

Winner of the day's bravery prize was Louis Higgins, who decided at one point that he was so desperate to get the flag that he would drop his gun and make a run for it - cue five opponents arising from the barrier behind which they were waiting for him and gunning him down in a scene that those who remember the film "Platoon" will recognise. (Louis is fine by the way!)
