Drama in Athens - Day 3

Today was spent hard at work preparing our performance of 'Lysistrata'.

 After an immersive workshop on Greek tragedy at the Topos Allou Theatre; the theatre's director and three of his actors helped rehearse and costume us before our visit to 'The Smile of the Child' children's home. 

We were very proud of how well the students performed, but even happier to see the joy all the children found in playing together afterwards. A great day!!

Drama in Athens - Day 2

After an early start and a quick stop off at the Corinth Canal, we climbed up to the beautifully situated royal palace at Mycenae in 41 degree heat and visited the Tomb of Atreus. 

In the afternoon came the highlight for many; a visit to the theatre at Epidaurus where we performed excerpts from Lysistrata. All topped off with delicious slushies in the sun. Everyone well and happy.

Drama in Athens - Day 1

Happily established in Hotel Achillion; the group enjoyed a mask making work shop at the Topos Allou Theatre with the Atreides Theatre Company. 

After a traditional Greek dinner, we read through Lysistrata which we will perform later this week. 

Early nights all round after a 4am start!
