Despite a few forgotten passports, we left promptly at 8am.
Our coach driver, Barry avoided the Wimbledon congestion and missed the usual
traffic to arrive perfectly in time for the 11am ferry. A beautiful sunny day
with calm seas was especially welcome as the Year 7s invaded Calais. Mr Gilbert
gave a brief introduction as we watched a short video on the D-day Normandy
invasion as we ourselves progressed into Normandy. This was followed a slightly
less educational, but well accompanied viewing of Disney’s “Frozen”, a first
for Miss Ling (you wouldn't have guessed it though from the way that she sang
along).
We arrived in Pont D’Ouilly at about 7.45pm (French time).
Supper was tasty chicken in a white wine sauce with rice and beans; an apple
flan made up dessert.
Looking forward to the Land Yachting tomorrow!
