We have had a marvellous stay in the Parador. After
settling into twin rooms with all mod cons, some chose to watch a world cup
match whilst others headed for the games room or explored the building that was
once the king's hunting lodge. It's a very elegant hotel with lots of wood
panelling covered in huge paintings and breathtaking views down the valley.
The photo shows a display in the room where the Spanish
constitution was signed. Wow!
After a comfortable night's sleep, we gathered for
breakfast before packing in preparation for the trip home. On the way to
Madrid, we will be stopping in Avila for a couple of hours for lunch and to
look around this fascinating medieval town.
