Thursday at the Arvon Centre and things have got so busy that only one student (the intrepid Richard) wanted to go for a walk. People have
been writing songs (Amber), plays (Lally) and short stories (Ev) amongst
others, buoyed on by our wonderful tutors who’ve been giving the group more
one-to-one tutorials.
The dinner team whipped up a wonderful mash to go with the
local bangers and then the main evening event was a ‘covers night’ where the
group recited their favourite poems or prose extracts. Tom and Olga compèred with wit and alacrity and we were particularly blown away by singing from
Maisie and a genuinely moving monologue from Issy.
The evening was rounded off with an extended bedtime and a
choice between a movie night and an impromptu poetry composing session for
Anna’s birthday, which falls tomorrow.
