Today’s excursion was a mirror image of yesterday in the
morning the with the halves of the group swapping over the bakery / cookery
school experience. Suffice to say, we all enjoyed ourselves again in our
different ways, especially Alfie, the budding ornithologist, who surrounded
himself with a flock of local pigeons.
In the afternoon, though, we were driven up to the Champs
Elysées by Rob, our ever-patient driver where we admired Napoleon’s mighty Arc
de Troimphe, before we walked down to the Trocadéro to take in the view of the
Eiffel Tower. Narrowly missing a huge downpour, we made it onto the riverboat
for a trip along the Seine. Finishing off our day with a meal in the Quartier
Latin made for a lovely last day here in Paris.
Tomorrow, it’s an early start and then the long drive back.
It’s been a great week and the group have been brilliant
ambassadors for the school.
