Dartmoor trip is running an hour late home owing to traffic on the M4

UKSA Cowes Day 5

"On the last day the weather brightened up, counteracting the fact that there was no wind, which made windsurfing highly enjoyable. We played some tricks and I lost my shoe. The mud stole my shoe and I was scared of the jellyfish. They were big"

Manon Ajaz

Best of Belgium - slightly delayed

This trip is running at least an hour late - heavy queues in the Euro Tunnel

Tour du Mont Blanc - Day 5

We have made it! All 66km complete, and all in record time. The group have been fantastic.

Celebratory pizzas were had in Courmayeur. We are now waiting and briefly learning to rock climb in Chamonix, then it's Geneva and a late-night London return.

Danube - Day 5

Baroque architecture in abundance. Vienna tomorrow.

On the banks of the Danube an hour before arriving in Vienna

Morocco - Day 5

Today we went to a local home for orphaned and abandoned children just outside Casablanca. We sanded and painted the playground walls, raked the garden and did some litter picking on the nearby beach to help them. We also gave the children food, played football, drew and painted with the children and practised our French to communicate with them. We brought with us lots of toys, stationery and clothes to give to the children as presents. It was really emotional to see their reactions to their gifts and we were all very emotional when it came time to leave. Such a brilliant day!

Swim trek - Day 5

Friday: Final swim this morning and then home. A great time had by all.

swim trek - day 4

Thursday afternoon: Finally the storm cleared and we went out paddle boarding. Quiz and prize giving in the evening.

Swim Trek - Day 3

Wednesday: Lovely weather. We had three swims and a long hike. Good spirits and very impressive swimming.

Camargue - Day 4

Yesterday the students visited the incredible Salt Marshes in Camargue. The scenery was stunning with the water being bright pink.

We discovered the reason for the pink water was due to a pink algae which was eaten by small prawns which was then eaten by flamingos which made their feathers pink!

Discover London - Day 4

Mucking about on the river!

Dartmoor - Day 4

Another wet, but fun day! A very sleepy start, but the students loved today's activities. The cycle tour, followed by gorge scrambling and rock climbing and a cycle back to the centre. All rounded off with a bit of bushcraft and some toasted marshmallows!

Paris Cuisine and Culture - Day 4

Today’s excursion was a mirror image of yesterday in the morning the with the halves of the group swapping over the bakery / cookery school experience. Suffice to say, we all enjoyed ourselves again in our different ways, especially Alfie, the budding ornithologist, who surrounded himself with a flock of local pigeons.

In the afternoon, though, we were driven up to the Champs Elysées by Rob, our ever-patient driver where we admired Napoleon’s mighty Arc de Troimphe, before we walked down to the Trocadéro to take in the view of the Eiffel Tower. Narrowly missing a huge downpour, we made it onto the riverboat for a trip along the Seine. Finishing off our day with a meal in the Quartier Latin made for a lovely last day here in Paris.

Tomorrow, it’s an early start and then the long drive back.

It’s been a great week and the group have been brilliant ambassadors for the school.

Surfing in Cornwall - Day 4

Our third day of surfing was the most challenging yet - conditions were windy and wet and the tide was high. It was hard going battling
the choppy waves but many managed to stand up and and some even rose to the challenge set by the instructors to try some tricks on their boards. In the afternoon, prizes were awarded for some mad surfing skills, meanwhile a very energetic and highly competitive Y10 vs Y12 football match was taking place on the beach (Y10 won!).

More prizes were awarded this evening for outstanding commitment and achievement this week. Special mention goes to Matthew Wood, who won the award for next performance in all activities throughout the week, Jasmin and Sophia for conquering their fear of heights, and Emile for all-round positivity!

We are now tucked up in the hotel watching Good Will Hunting.

Best of Belgium - Day 4

Today we visited Waterloo and climbed the Lion's Mount!

Bushcraft - Day 4

Another busy day in which pupils put a lot of their new found skills into practice. They spent time in the woods, first foraging for foods and learning about plants, then they were challenged to create their own fire place, combine their foraged foods and make a dough to cook bannock.

In the afternoon we held the Bushcraft Olympics and 4 teams (including a teacher team) competed a round robin of activities to protect a village from a 'saber tooth tiger' that was on the loose!

In the evening students chose to either learn about cordage or continue on with their knife craft.

Drama in Athens - Day 3

Today was spent hard at work preparing our performance of 'Lysistrata'.

After an immersive workshop on Greek tragedy at the Topos Allou Theatre; the theatre's director and three of his actors helped rehearse and costume us before our visit to 'The Smile of the Child' children's home.
We were very proud of how well the students performed, but even happier to see the joy all the children found in playing together afterwards. A great day!!
