We managed to recover from yesterday's football results
and head into Nimes. We started with the Maison Caree, a temple dedicated to
Augustus in the city centre. We then went to the Arenes, an amphitheatre which
would have seated 24,000 people in its heyday. After lunch, we headed towards
the Tour Magne, a large tower which was part of the ancient city walls. After a
walk through the park and a well-deserved ice cream, we hit the hotel swimming
pool before dinner.
